North Is Best

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 From windswept
moorland
dark and bleak,
where curlews cry
and barn-roofs leak,
where football teams
are strong and true
and thunemployed
have nowt to do,
we’ll give you
poems wrought
in granite,
not idle ditties
hatched in Thanet,
we’ve got the better
teams as well,
or so statistics
seem to tell.
More cups have
travelled north
I think. We’ve
also better beer
to drink.

Notes

A light hearted response to the Southern offering.
