No half-baked ideas or cunning plans
Or buying them the gift you’d like yourself
How to best spend your last half-crown

No half-hearted efforts on Christmas Eve
Choosing from half a dozen remains
Don’t stop for a swift half down the pub
Being half-cut won’t bring you reward
When you’re expected to lavish gifts of love
