Number 2O…For My Dad

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 In Heaven, did you hear the Kopites roar?
Liverpool FC, are Champions once more!
We won it at a canter…it’s not even May.
So to Yew Tree Cemetery, I made my way.
A bunch of red flowers, I left at Dad’s stone.
With ease, we brought number 20 home.
‘Not an exciting Title race’ I’ve heard it said.
But that means nothing, to those in Red!
A glorious occasion under the Anfield sun.
With skill, fair and square the Title we won.
Dad, I really wish you could have been there.
A celebration, with your loved ones to share.
Over Dad’s headstone, an LFC scarf I drape.
Tears I tried to hold back, now finally escape.
