Oh Referee!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 As soon as Ref pulled on the shirt
His senses went on to red alert
Ears flapped to catch every sound
Sturdy feet covered each inch of ground
Eyes wide open to each trick in the book
Dished out cautions ignoring dirty looks
After ninety minutes, a field of cramping limbs
No-one stops to consider him
When play is over, the game all done
Points are lost or shared or won
Do players ever stop to think
That the referee might like a drink?

Notes

Poor old Ref. Gets abuse from the crowd, disrespect from the players
and managers, criticism from the assessors. If anybody did offer him a half-time orange would it be spiked?

Happy Christmas to Referees everywhere.
