On Behalf of Gazza

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 If Freddie Shepherd had a heart
He’d find a place for Gazza at St James’s Park
Training the youngsters he’d be sound
He should be in football, at this ground

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 It’s sad to se a hero broken
“By his own hand” some say its true
But Christ his skills came down from heaven
And for that alone the man is due

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Mistakes? we all are human, weak?
Insecure? It’s not a crime
The crime is ignoring all that talent
When football owes him, big time

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 What a chance for youth to learn
That football breaks its own heart too
And mighty legends fall to earth
When the piper plays the tune

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But football neglects its finest vine
Look what it did to Bobby Moore
Whilst mediocrity buys new 4 x 4’s
For lads who’ve yet won bugger all.

Notes

“Life after football” – bbc programme on the other night presented by Alan Hansen….sad to see Paul Gascoigne the state he was in; whatever his faults the man was a genius on a football pitch and his media “relationship” is a lesson for all youngsters who dream of being Kop Idols…..If Football is SERIOUS about protecting young players then FIND A REAL ROLE FOR PAUL GASCOIGNE IN FOOTBALL…..
