On Being Back Again

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 it’s like we’ve never been away and yet inside we know
that after all that we’ve been through we’re grateful just to go
relentless rain then more again upon the pitch and track
and on away fans out there the day the fans came back

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 the game itself a crazy blur of moments you forget
the good stuff and the in between that will improve some yet
you sip your oat milk coffee you savour each attack
it’s feels like normal on the hill it’s special to be back

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 there’s banter on the terraces between our guys and Sutton
the season’s up and running now we’ve pressed the magic button
we’re not our best but we’re not here to moan at what we lack
a door has opened just a bit and sun peeps through the crack

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 and you can feel it out there the passion and attraction
the players seem to thrive and feed upon the fans reaction
and no-one’s screaming yet this time for someone to be sacked
we even grab a last gasp goal it’s brilliant to be back!

Torrential rain and sun and then more rain.
A hard late knock and ‘welcome to the League’ for a tidy Sutton who look good. We will improve (hopefully.) Just so good to be back.
