One Christmas Morning

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The little lad on Christmas morn
opened up his presents with glee,
but the gift that got him excited
was the Sky Blue kit of Coventry.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 He jumped about in sheer delight
crying this was the best of all,
he couldn’t wait to put it on
and to get out and play football.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The boy hadn’t asked for any other club
Manchester United red or Chelsea blue,
all he wanted was for Coventry City’s
and Father Christmas made his wish come true.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 He also got a Sky Blue wooden rattle
the colours of his beloved football team,
he now believed there was a Santa Claus
and all this wasn’t just a dream.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 I wonder what happened to that little lad
who found wonder under the Christmas Tree ?
well I won’t keep you all in suspense
as that excited little boy was me !

Notes

The magic of Christmas revisited ! I don’t know if kids make wish lists these days ? But we did back then and I can honestly remember getting that kit and rattle and feeling so excited. Kids back then were no different than now, most wanted Chelsea,Liverpool,or Man United kits. But not me all I wished for was the Sky Blue of Coventry.
Nothings changed for me there then !
