One cold day in heaven
The Good Lord looked down
At the warmth of the people
At His Anfield ground
And He turned to the Angels
Who stood close by His side
And He said:
“I’m away down to Anfield, my own paradise!”
So He grabbed Jacob’s Ladder
And climbed all the way down
Left a note for St. Peter that said:
”I’m sound as a pound!”
And so The Lord joined the Kopites
Took a pint at the Albert bar
And when He saw Stevie G
He shouted: “Follow that star!”
