1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The game has finished, still there’s doubt
Was it in or was it out?
Yesterdays redtops with sarcastic quips
Now are a vehicle for fish and chips

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The debate will last the whole week
Did it cross the line?
I have to say this, tongue in cheek
I was fast asleep at the time

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 It was one of them games
I’m not naming names
That seem to last for ever
The end was the most exciting part
That and the blimmin weather!

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 When the whistle went, you’d money spent
On a programme and a seat
That and a disputed goal
Have made yer day complete

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 The mood is very sombre
As all the fans troop out
I know, lets ask Sheila*
Was it in or was it out?

This poem is not about Liverpool v Chelsea, but all those blimmin games, where the only goal was a disputed one against your team to cap a blimmin awful day, we’ve all been there!

* Sheila is as Parry says, Ralphy’s secratary not some Aussie bird from
Earls Court in London,the new expensive goal line equipment that the sweet FA are going to install should be called…..Sheila!
