One Who Never Made It

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 He wanted to be a centre back,
He tried to be dominating,
He tried to snuff out each attack
But found it intimidating.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Whene’er he urged the line to move,
The other three ignored him.
E’en with time, it did not improve,
His timidity did not reward him.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 His manager saw what the problem was,
And said, with some unpleasance,
“You’re like a poor child at Christmas, ‘cos
You just don’t have any presence.”
