Of a 5’s team,
To just win a game
Is our dream.

A special quality,
Playing together
With equality.

Has reflexes of steel,
The opposition always stunned
Her talent’s unreal.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Penny, one forward
Always in the way,
Blowing away shots
Like small wisps of hay.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Harriet, another forward
With strength, determination,
To look to her is a good idea
When working out formations.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Seona, our defence
A force to reckon with,
If she goes charging in
You couldn’t stop her with a paleolith. *

An all rounder with skill,
Following Ronaldo
Just with a lot more will.

Useful short bursts of speed,
Finally with an attacking partner
To communicate silently, and agree.

Perseverance and dedication,
We’d be in the running
Cause we beat down our frustration.

All of us as one,
Improving week by week
In our hearts, we’ve already won.

We might not win any of our games, but every week we get better and better. Since we’ve started communicating and moving more, and listening to each other, we’ve started playing so much better. This last game we had was against one of the roughest teams I for one have ever played, but we played better than ever. Our keeper in particular was phenomenal, letting in nothing in the 2nd half and getting up immediately after taking a ball to the stomach.

Hang in there girls, we’ll get there eventually. And when we do, it’ll be SO worth it!
