Paradise Park

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We Morton went up to Paradise Park
on a cool September evening
played it hard
played it tough
soaked up so much Celtic pressure.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Both their Rogic and Mulgrew
blasted shots at Nico Caraux
saved them all
saved them well
so we took Celtic into extra time.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Then on ninety seven minutes
penalty against Celtic – practically unknown
up stepped our wee Dougie Imrie to find the net
and drive us Morton fans to ecstasy and beyond.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Then woke up very late
the next morning (or one after)
head hurt from
pints of heavy
mixed with Mars Bars all deep fried.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Perhaps we’ll never ever win
another game this whole season
doesn’t matter
we don’t care
as Morton beat the big Buoys in green.

Notes

Inspired by Greenock Morton’s away win by a solitary goal
against Celtic in the Scottish League Cup
on Tuesday 24 September 2013
