Patrick Viera

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Hard as nails on the pitch
A General commanding the play
Dictating tactics, shaping patterns,
Determined, unafraid
The long langorous limbs
Perfectly co-ordinated
The strongest knuckle
In the Arsenal fist
And yet this mighty colossus
Smiles with the warmth of the sun
In the tunnel away from the camera
For the benefit of
2 starstruck youngsters
Fortunate enough to bask in the glow
Of the Captain’s rays.

Notes

Newcastle v Arsenal last week, in the tunnel just before the players came onto the pitch Kieron Dyer and Patrick Viera were standing with the two young mascots for the match and the smile that Viera gave to the kids was something to be seen. I was only watching on telly and I melted! What a lovely man. Needless to say the youngsters were as starstruck as me! and I’m old enough and cynical enough to know better!

Happy New Year everyone, lets hope it’s a good one, for one and all.
