Peter Schmeichel

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Another day, another dollar
Another season, through which he’ll holler
Barrack and cajole
This mighty beanpole
Bringing home the bacon
While busy makin’
Save after save after save
And everyone will rave
As he soars
And pours, scorn
On his defenders forlorn
And if, the night before
A potential nil-nil bore
Team mates were to head for rumpy-pumpy
They should remember, they’ll have to deal with Mr Grumpy
He’ll soon have them withering
For their dithering
In the box
As he shocks
With his sharp tongue
And the way he can bung
The ball
As I recall
Deep into the opposition half
But don’t laugh
For he’ll be busy haranguing
Sledging and slanging
At all and sundry, even those on his own side
It won’t be just the referee he’ll deride
And not just Harry Kewell
That he’ll ridicule

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 And will we see that old familiar quaking
As the ground starts rumbling and shaking
The ominous, onrushing, star shaped spreads
That leaves strikers, with skid marks in their threads
An easy chance spurned
Because once more, the Great Dane has earned
Kudos and respect
His passion we detect
And applaud
His greatness adored
By fan and neutral alike
From Scouser, to Cockney, to Tyke

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Potentially, many a thriller
We’ll see this year at the Villa
As the Great Dane lambasts and berates
The journeymen, the seasoned pro’s, the greats
Nor will he hesitate to taunt
Even the youngest, greenest, débutante

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Now, no longer a mighty Red
But never let it be said
That he might rest upon his laurels
No, far too many potential quarrels
In the offing
To entertain those of us, quaffing

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But with no Southgate, no Ehiogu
How will it all end, this new epilogue?
