On that first cup final day
I seen some sights I never thought I’d see

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 There were stalks in wimmens hair
Precious hearts behind blokes ears
Even teeshirts paying homage to the green

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Fans hid it in their boxers
Stuffed in down their sox
Wore it round their throats like necklaces

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 There were banners saying “Save it
Us Chelsea fans just crave it
It’s our future and our past, our heritage”

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Manc fans stood confused
What else could they to do?
All they’ve got is curry sauce and chips

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 But they eyed us green with envy
That Saturday at Wemberley
As the pale green hearts came raining on the pitch

“That’s a snack, I’m a veggie blue boy mate”
Was all them blue fans muttered rather twee

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 Ah, but went our team ran out
Up loud went the famous shout
And down it came, a hail of….celery

Mention it on tv channels
The papers’ll give it, a column inch or two

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 Of the day we went to the new Wemberley
Smuggled in our sacred celery
Then departed with the cup decked out in blue!

Notes

A true story. I can’t say anymore because smuggling celery into football matches is quite a celerious offence!
