captured by trickery of light
or way back when – by a Browning

that have had the masses talking
and the counters with their beans
blanching or baulking

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 With the unexpected and the debatable
thrown into the mix
causing commotion
leaving sensibilities in a fix

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 But where do you go
when you reach a quantum leap?
Watch the game change forever –
a case of as they sow, so we weep?

More for ‘some people’ than from my own heart;
Indeed, as a Chelsea fan it would be hypocritical to bemoan the figures proposed by Man City in trying to capture Kaka – offering to more than double the previous world record transfer fee and offering wages of a quarter of a million pounds PER WEEK!

There have always been advances in transfer fees and wages, as dictated by market forces – even back to the very beginning when it was the mining towns who had the wherewithall to dominate football in its nascent era – but this – as the title suggests – is a quantum leap that not even Abramovich’s billions introduced into the game.
