Re-United And It Feels So Good!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Re-united by that well known web site
The internet put them back in touch
One or t’other suggested they meet at the next home game
Where? In halcyon days gone by, this place seemed so much

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 As the match day approached, they both seemed to know
That those feelings had not disappeared
When as two eleven year old die-hardfans
Relegation instilled such awful fears

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Anyway, with trepidation and caution
Two sad tales of “I’m working late”
Each one boldly told a little white lie to placate
Stale partners they’d both come to hate

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The buzz of the crowd when they met outside ground
Hid sheepish and awkwardly feelings
The years had hardly impaired her good looks
He realized that his heart was still reeling

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Over bovril and pies, they looked in each others eyes
The spark was still undoubtedly there
Of a love long time lost at great emotional cost
She smiled, he just sat there and stared

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 The tannoy belted out the fire warning
That signified kick off was near
As they both watched wholesome happy families
Pocket programmes and head toward cheers

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 They shyly held hands and went up to the stands
To sit down and take in the match
But excitement was not on the green field of play
It was secretly held hands in seat gaps

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 As they looked out at the game
They both knew why they came
The colour, the feelings, the cheers
It seemed that once innocent young feelings
Like team colours, had hardly changed o’er the years

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 When the home team then scored
As those partisans roared
He hugged her tightly to his chest
T’was what they used to do years ago whilst still young
But this time fans close by were impressed

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 As those around them sat down
They looked like two drunken clowns
Precarious and in danger of falling
As they only had eyes for each other
Calls of “Sit down I can’t see” were just boring

11 Leave a comment on verse 11 0 As the team turned up the heat
Two hearts missed a beat
By now they were as kids again
All the years in between were forgotten
Tis stupid to waste time on such pain

12 Leave a comment on verse 12 0 So now at some football ground there’s going around
A couple who won’t miss a game
Is this what folks mean by falling in love with your team?
It is. Then for the second time these two are a falling!

Notes

I bet this has happened!

peace.
