Renewed interest

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I lost my football appetite when Bolton fell from grace
I didn’t renew my season ticket as the team were out of place
The premier league was special and the thought of not being there
And the return to the Championship was really hard to bear.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I still kept the interest even though I didn’t attend
And I managed to find other interests to occupy my weekend
Even though it was quite difficult as I seldom missed a game
But my health was more important than my usual acclaim.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Season after season things went from bad to worse
I thought my supported club would be carried off in a hearse
The unthinkable could have happened and the club nearly went bust
But we we’re saved from extinction by a group people we could trust.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 We suffered another relegation and a drop to the bottom tier
Could things get any worse and that was many fans fear
It was a terrible start to the season and the team were losing games
But Evatt sorted it out with the signing of some bigger names.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 We were very close to the bottom giving teams a massive start
Then came the revival tearing every team apart
The style of football was good to watch and the table we did climb
The games were fast and furious I was glad when the Ref blew time

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 So now we are promoted a season ticket I have bought
No more empty stadiums and no more second thoughts
My appetite rekindled and my old seat now acquired
I’m looking forward to the new season now that I’m retired.

Notes

After Bolton’s fall from the Premier league, I didn’t renew my season ticket. All that time and the troubles the club has been through my interests have been finally revived. Onwards and upwards.
