Reply to Gomes = Eduardo

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 It’s true that some keepers,
Are quite badly beaten.
But think also, of our outfield,
Is their treatment sweetened?
Perhaps they do sometimes
Play up to their crowd.
Dive down and stumble,
And at this might be proud.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But one word, one injury: Eduardo.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Justice was brought upon him,
As Taylor got the red card.
But Birmingham City’s player
Did not come out scarred.
Eduardo on the other hand,
A fractured fibula, a dislocated ankle.
Fury swept throughout the stadium,
The Arsenal supporters rankled.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 All players on a football pitch,
Get injured from time to time.
As for the severity, it always depends,
On the position, + what being the crime.
Keepers will get their skulls knocked,
A striker or midfielder legs and feet.
Players get punished, justice done,
Until when they might next meet.

Notes

Not contradicting or arguing against ‘Gomes’ at all, but looking at the whole picture of injuries in the world of football.

Eduardo’s injury was one that shocked me the most out of any football-related injury in a long time, equal to Cech’s injury. I was disgusted that Taylor could even be capable of such a thing, even though Birmingham and Taylor claim that he visited Eduardo in hospital and his apology was accepted, Eduardo cannot remember a single thing about the foul or the hospital visit, so this remains unknown. However he acted genuinely sorry for taking him out so badly, but I hope that Eduardo will really show Birmingham City that he’s back and better than ever before the next time he meets them.
