He’s served in this capacity.
But now he’s leaving,
And we’re grieving,
Farewell Fintan Cassidy.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 He’s led the Club with vision and
Hard-working perspicacity.
We’ve had no fears
Down through the years
Because of Fintan Cassidy.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 At all times he’s avoided
Obfuscation and mendacity.
A truthful bloke
Who never spoke
A lie, did Fintan Cassidy.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Shelbourne fans have pestered him
With limitless tenacity.
But now we must
Admit there’s just
No-one like Fintan Cassidy.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Our questions he has answered with
Great humour and veracity.
We don’t know who’s
To fill the shoes
Of Chairman Fintan Cassidy.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 A tall and bronzed Adonis, who’s
Endowed with great sagacity.
Small wonder then
That many men
Defer to Fintan Cassidy.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 His appetite for Shelbourne still
Will have a great voracity.
He’ll still be found
Around the ground,
Will Councillor Fintan Cassidy.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 He’s ventured into politics
With marvellous audacity.
So if you’re bored
And in his ward,
Go vote for Fintan Cassidy.
