Ricky…Don’t Lose That Runner.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 T’would seem the two footed tackle
Is back en vogue again
Where some over commited maniacal
Could really cause a bloke some pain.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Of course John Obi Mikel
Should have been dismissed
He could have snapped Phil Neville’s leg
The mere fact that he missed
By miles. Is neither here nor there.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Sitting there like an eejit
With a beaming smile on his mug
The Everton players to be fair to them
Pleaded on his behalf “Oi Ref don’t send him off”.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 And the home fans putting their hands together
For a round of applause,
As he trudged toward an early bath
Under the cosh and down to ten, because of him,
Are they having a bleedin laugh?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Nearly down to nine much later
As Ricky Carvalhio lost his head
With the kinda tackle that just three weeks ago
Caused his early au revior in red.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Avram Grant must be going meshuggena*
With the lack of discipline
In our first team squad
I notice he couldn’t bear to look at him (Mikel)
As the guilty culprit sauntered off.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Our resources are stretched already
Due to injury and the African Nations
So three match bans due to red card hot heads
Just now. Ain’t doing us any favours!

Notes

*Meshuggena. Hebrew or Yiddish for going crazy!

There’s been a bit of a debate on the telly of late, about the return of the dreaded, scary, quite frightening two footed tackle. And it ain’t all down to Johnny Continental as some pundits would have us believe.

I can’t comment on any of those tackles, on the box over the week-end, cos I didn’t see them, but I can comment on tackles, made by these two blokes, cos I’ve seen them both at it, they play for my team and it drives me mad!

Both of them have been guilty of it this season and Ricky, who has just come back from a three game ban, was lucky to stay the distance after the attempted tackle on James McFadden, Tuesday night. Mikel got himself sent off, earlier in the season, at Old Trafford and needs to get his nut sorted out. Dropped for a few games when he returns from Ghana, and maybe he’ll get the message?.

What happens to players who’re banned, I thought I read somewhere that their wages was paid to a charity or something. Anyone know?
