Roll the credits

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We’re the TV generation –
those of us of a certain age, hold it in veneration;
it was our sitter, our tutor
our comfort blanket
our fortifier;
it was our jedi, our buddha
our saint, our scholar
our diablo;

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 And every decade
we had standouts :
Seventies; Kojak, Colditz, Catweazle and anything Anderson (Gerry)
Eighties; Hill St Blues, Boys From the Blackstuff
Nineties; NYPD Blue
Naughties; The Wire, Life on Mars

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 But all throughout the ages
we had the backbone
the constant
the immutable;
our dream weaver –
Match of the Day
(and it’s imitators)

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Every year, a season finale
a cliffhanger
the denouement
and a fitting finish –
all ends tied up.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Goodies and baddies
feted with medals –
or testcarded

Notes

personal choices, of course!

Personally, I loved the Big Match with Brian Moore just as much.
