Rooney’s Childish Antics

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I know Wayne Rooney
Has wonderful skills
On a football pitch
But the celebrity status
That snakes its way into
Farce and front page news
Makes me yawn
And frown
And wish that someone somewhere
Would take him to one side
Look him in the eye
And be strong enough to say
“For Christ’s sake son, just GROW UP!”

Notes

“I was born on the banks of the Mersey
Facin’ the Irish sea
It might not seem like heaven to you
But it’s home sweet home to me”

If in life we get the heroes we deserve, then perhaps, as football reflects all of life back to us, we indeed get the footballers we deserve; makes me worry for the future….
