Assembly begins
Oh to be a pilgrim
“And Freddie with wings for feet
Sets off on one of his runs
Breathless tireless…”
Assembly ends
The dull walk to dusty
Classrooms and desk pens
“Oh this boy is pure class
Remember the name Freddie D’Guitar
Jinks and swerves and tricks..”
School ends
The day yawns picks up
Its bags and sets off home
“And Freddie with his back to goal
Spins and twists drops his shoulder
Left then tight then left again
The ball mesmerised by his lightning feet
And then the trgger pulled the shot fired
And Freddie SCORES!”
Good day at school love?
Freddie smiles
“Yeah, it was ok” he smiles,
Remembering the goal.
