Schoolyard Football

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 When we play our football,
we’re prone to act fools,
with laughter and banter,
unencumbered by rules.
Offside, What’s that?
Handball?
WHO CARES!
And most of the fouls are done as dares,
When players lock horns,
on the hard, grey ground,
when we all amass,
in a cacophony of sound,
Where cheating is fine,
provided it’s funny,
And if you complain,
you’re classed as a dummy.
Where every formation,
has ten up front,
When teacher’s hate our lateness,
we all bare the brunt,
because it’s worth it,
worth playing our game,
The comedy football,
that nobody could tame.
