Seven Year Pitch

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Seven long years it’s taken
As well as eight hundred million pounds
Hopes and dreams were put on ice
As they slowly built this ground

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Twin Towers no more
Arch rivals step on to a green carpet
They’ll have their work cut out for them
To recreate history we’ll never forget

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 This stadium built for businessmen
We need to remember the old cliche
Home is where the heart is
Wembley wasn’t built in a day

Notes

Half time at the 2007 FA Cup Final and it’s a disappointing nil nil. It could never have lived up to expectations, they’d have been better off showing highlights of Forest v Yeovil.

Incidentally, for how long will the ‘new’ Wembley be called ‘new’?
