Shall I be a player, Mum?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 One day a mother to his son
Told a sad story, a heart-breaking one,
He took from a photo-album and said,
“This is your father, but he’s been long dead;
He is a player, my child, high above.”
The boy in an instant drew close to her side
And these are the words that he softly replied…

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Shall I be a player, Mum?
A player on the pitch?
Will I wear the golden boots,
And score like my brother, Mitch?
Shall I score forever and ever,
With me being top headlines, everyday.
And mother, oh mother, please tell me,
If I get interviewed, what should I say?
