Shocked From London.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 All illusions I had have been shattered
Washed down the drain with the rain
Are yer saying that Wednesday night didn’t matter
After what both teams put in to that game?

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Did that John Arne Riiser
Have his palm greased La
As the ninety fourth minute came near.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 By some Moscow bound Yank
Who thought that them Mancs
Would much rather play Chelsea this year?

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Liverpool fans in fear of getting beat by United
I just can’t get me head around that
What happened to not being frightened of anyone
Are United really that good, tell me whack?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 The best team may well win the Premiership
As we speak, that issue has not been decided
But the fans on famed Kop being scared stiff of what?
A Champions League final defeat to United?

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 In honesty we thought Liverpool were nailed on
To win down The Bridge Wednesday night
Only Kerry Dixon gave us a snowballs chance in hell
On the show from The Cavern for Five Live.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Could be, Man United might win it
The Champions League, or we’ll pull a result from the fire
So to stop them we’ll have get in there amongst “em”
With a hunger, real need and desire!

Notes

Maybe I don’t really understand (being a Londoner) the L’pool versus Man Yoo rivalry, but to hear of L’pool fans being weary of getting beat by United in Moscow. I find very worrying to say the least, the getting to finals, irrespective of who you play in those finals, is all part of this being a fan, no matter what isn’t it? This poem is not meant to take the michael or extract the oracle…I’m just well and truly stunned by Echo’s poem and it’s gist.
