Six minutes in May

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 It was a nice sunny day in May
When our dream seemed far away.
Maldini, 1st minute, goal!
Nobody had expected, not even our Pole.
Then Crespo, one time, two times, top!
A lot of dreams had been stopped!
The referee was fair and the whistle blew.
How many Kopiters hoped for a drew?

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 They did not give up.
I thought they never would stop.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Within six minutes we came back
And Milan’s hopes were given a crack!
Dudek, our Pole, played good in his goal

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 And he had a friend called John Paul.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 He was with him when Shevchenko alone
Stood for him, he left him prone.
Happy too early, shocking the Kop,
Milan had no respect for the god.
Dudek, our hero, he had the ball,
We knew the decision will fall!
Penalty shoot out, isn’t that cruel?
Sheva vs. Dudek, Jerzy stayed cool.
Milan again was tired and fooled.
With the Pope they did rise from the dead,
Leaving Milan overcome by the red.
Carra to Dudek, he was all straight.
But he couldn’t get what they had made.
Had they defeated AC Milan?
Had they won this fabulous game?
What nobody believed came true at the end,
Never seen such a game from the stands.
The wonder of Istanbul
Forever connected with Liverpool.
