Sky Blue Fever

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I’m feeling sick in my stomach
But it’s not from a dodgy bacon batch
I get this now on a regular basis
And always after watching my team in a match.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 They lift my spirits for a short while
But then leave me with a thumping headache
My blood pressure goes through the roof
And I’m left wondering how much more can I take ?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 My doctor says I’ve got Sky Blue Fever
One of the worst illnesses known to man
As yet they’ve found no cure
But it only affects the Coventry City fan.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 It’s strange though because the fever leaves you
Always when the season comes to an end
All the stress and tension fades away
Just when your about to go round the bend.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 So yes Sky Blue Fever is a terrible disease
As all us sufferers know only too well
So until the City become a really top side
I’ll continue to pull out my hair, scream and yell !

Notes

As I’ve got my leg in plaster I haven’t been able to go to any games since just before christmas,so make do with listening in to my team on the local radio, and they have put me in even more pain !
Hence this poem, the funny thing is that my doctor sits just a row away from me at the Ricoh, and a few fans shout at him during games to check their blood pressure !
