I don’t think a back story is really required here. It was announced by Sky Sports that Inter have accepted a bid of £12 million from Stoke to sign Xherdan Shaqiri and it caused mass hysteria in the football world. Stoke fans in particular have loved the hype. It’s a bit overwhelming to go from signing Jermaine Pennant to a Champions League winner in just a few seasons.

However, there is now a bit of uncertainty whether he will join, with a few other clubs showing an interest in the young winger. To be honest I’m starting to doubt whether he will sign because the deal would surely be completed by now if it was on.

We could always just make do with Bojan!
