An open goal was gaping but the forward put it wide,
Perhaps because he’d doubled up with laughter.
Still smirking like a schoolboy, he was deemed to be onside,
When he scuffed his shot a little while after.

The chances of him scoring seemed to rapidly diminish,
As too much giggling spoiled his close control,
And it was in the second half, not long before the finish,
Before he had a serious shot on goal.
