So What? He’s Still Doing

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 You can say what you like about him
You can ridicule him till the cows come home
But if I was a manager in need of some pace
I’d be calling his bro on the phone

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 So what if he’s not a chav with a wag
Who lives his life adorning page three
I’d be more than willing to take a punt on this lad
That he’d do the business for me

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 He’s had more clubs than Craig Bellamy
But those of our game, not the night
The French coach has invited him back to the fold
That tells me, that he must be alright

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 On the telly today, in a heated affray
Where El Haj Diouf was at again
This boy had been kicked and roughed up as much
He just got up and went on with his game

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 He’s been round the World, was a Bernabeau pearl
Played at Anfield, Highbury, Maine Road
But he still turns it on without a dance and song
Cos he’s been blessed with great skill in shed loads

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 In our game today where “Hello” and “O.K”
Sell more copies than seats at the match
It’s sure nice to see some mystique in a bloke
Who’s not swimming in the razz-a-ma-tazz

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 I’m tired of seeing me working class hero’s
Involved in ructions after wild nights on the town
Cos it’s you, me, the fans when the crap hits the fan
Who suffer when the teams sliding down

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 So a big up to Nicholas Anelka
A nomadic footballer of whom not much is known
Who just dusts him self down and gets on with it
Wherever he is, long may he continue to roam!

Notes

Lovely to see somebody who’s a bit different in the game for a very welcome change.

Such a contrast in two players at St James Park yesterday, Anelka just getting on with it after taking a fair bit of stick in one of our dour, run of the mill games, which everybody knows is physical.

Then El Haj Diouf nearly getting himself sent off and almost costing Bolton the game for losing it and still trying to wind up the crowd in to the bargain.

Anelka still seems to have that blistering pace and ball control which is just a treat to watch in these days of…The System! That is so staid and boring for the fans, well it is for this one!

Is it just me that thinks he (Anelka) seems to have been gracing our green space’s for ages and hardly ever changes in appearance or age?
