With each side’s troops of eleven
Soon as we heard the ref’s whistle
The rumble starts and we’re driven

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 A thrill atmosphere to surround
In every tackle, shoot and pass
Until the single purpose found
To bring the cheer among the mass

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 There are goals for singled fame
You never know what will come hence
There’ll be fouls along the game
Then card brandished as consequence

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Until the final whistle blown
And the choir stop to sing
The final result will be known
Then joy & gloom each team shall bring

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 To feel the world is at your feet
Within each goal and every shout
Soccer for all nations to meet
That’s what the game is all about
