Some say God, We say Shankly

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Our Saviour Shankly came to us in 1959
And lads like me Dad yelled “About bloody time!”
Tho they loved Billy Liddellpool and cheered him in the Kop
They were sick of being second class, time this had to stop
The Messiah drove down from the North parked up in his car
With a Cagney swagger in he came our brightest shining star
He told the chairman how it was and how things now would be
Rowdy Yeats, Ian St John and The Kop made these 3 Kings.

Notes

“I was born by the banks of the Mersey
Facin’ the Irish Sea
It might not look like heaven to you
But it’s home sweet home to me”
