Some Things In Life Are Precious.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I met her up in Putney
At a party near the river
As my eyes met hers
Across the room
My heart went all a quiver
Her gorgeous face
So filled with grace
Took my breath away
As the other guests departed
She asked me if I’d stay
I looked at her in wonder
A beauty so effete
All of her was radiance personified
Even things petite
We sat down on the sofa
She quoted poignant prose
I was captivated
By a dimple on her nose
We listened to Suzanne by Leonard Cohen
That almost made her cry
We sat on her veranda
As stars filled up the sky
We looked across the moonlit river
At the Fulham ground close by
She said ‘I spend most weekends there’
I just said ‘goodbye’
Some things in life are precious
Precious that is to you
She’d have always been be a cottager
I’d always be a blue!!!
