Something Thumping

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 there’s something thumping louder than
some drum and bass or garage band
i’m being followed everywhere
and mice are gnawing at my hair
my house and shed have blown away
and all my things have gone astray
i’m trapped inside a lift alone
they’ve disconnected eve’ry phone
they’ve cancelled ev’ry single train
i’m drowning in torrential rain
there’s gridlock on the roads to town
i’m stranded in my dressing gown
the clocks have stopped at five to three
an Arsenal fan just winked at me
there’s something thumping louder now
my heart will soon explode I vow
i’ve fallen down some roadworks hole
i’m more excited than Joe Cole
i never thought I’d feel this weak
the night before we win the league!
