1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 If you go down to Forest Green Rovers
you’re sure of a big surprise,
as it’s all vegetarian grub
so lots of vegan pies.
So expect a different type of menu
if you are in need of a bite,
it’s not your usual steak and kidney
or sausage roll in sight.
So in place of a greasy burger
you can eat a slice of walnut cake,
and drink a cup of lentil soup
instead of a beer at the half time break.
They’ve even got solar panels
so F.G.R. are really truly green,
and their players say they feel fitter
so many are addicted to soya bean.
So this football club may be the future
and it could catch on everywhere,
in that case expect chilled out supporters
who’ll be wearing flowers in their hair !

Congratulations to Forest Green Rovers on their title winning season. I’ve read that the owner used to be a New Age Traveller so hence my last verse.
But joking apart if he got some stick for his new ideas, he’s definitely got the last laugh now.
