State of Adidas (All Day I Dream About Soccer)

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Urban streets bear vivid colours
White vans with flags attached
Gerrard tops on daughters, brothers
Lampard stripes adorned by dad
The time for talkings left behind
With the boys who missed the cut
It’s time to forge the ties that bind
Out in South Africa.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Adverts, and endorsements
Embrace our telly screen
We’re told that if we wear these clothes
Then we’ll score goals like Rooney
So come on boys and earn your stripes
Where the springbok roams the veld
And prove your nations side
As being worthy champions of the World.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Kit mans packed his cases
With: boots, shirts shorts and socks
As teams fly in from far off places
Where football speaks all tongues
A month of balmy television nights
Guaranteed to blast
A worldwide football fan’s mind
In to euphoria and a state of…. ADIDAS*

Notes

This poem is a bit commercial I suppose but hey….who cares? Or make up your own meaning from the name of the famous football boots with the three white stripes and stick that in the last line!

Peace.

Kev.
