Stephen Geoghegan

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Perhaps he was the greatest Red
That we have ever seen,
Scoring goals with foot and head
And body parts between.
He’d pick defenders pockets like
A wily, crafty Fagin.
Scarcely any could out-psyche
The master, Stephen Geoghegan.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The replay goal against St. Pats
Will never fade completely.
In the air went scarves and hats,
As Jesus smiled sweetly.
Sharper than a piece of glass,
More deadly than a ray gun,
For a decade, he kicked ass –
The maestro, Stephen Geoghegan.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The handball goal to foil the Hoops
Out-brazened Maradonna.
Behind him, all his faithful troops
Bestowed on him great honour.
Worshipped for his talents by
Shels follower and pagan,
Old centre-forwards never die,
And nor will Stephen Geoghegan.

Notes

Probably our greatest ever centre forward, Geogo was given a free transfer at the end of last season.
