Sticking My Neck Out

crawls like a baby
can we walk the walk
for the teatime game
Hope
runs away with us
If we can beat Swansea
we’re almost there

come in –
ping-ponging teams
in and out of the play-offs
Late goals from early kick-offs
shape the way
Scunthorpe beat QPR 4-1!

Norwich were beaten by a long neck
Three-nil to Swansea
Oh ‘eck

Notes

Norwich City lost their first game for ages on Saturday- still in second place in the Championship but with the dragon breath of Swansea and Cardiff right on us. This is when you notice the dark horses sneaking up into play-off places and wondering if your team can ‘Hold on!’

If we do go up to the Prem, well we’ll have to get on with it ready or not, but if we get another season or so like the one we’re having I won’t be complaining.
Our local radio commentator missed the game through illness – he said that when he woke at 3.30am the night before he knew that the feeling in his stomach wasn’t butterflies! Sums it up well -nervous times here, but for all the right reasons. For teams battling relegation and administration – keep the faith – four years ago QPR were at the bottom of the Championship and Norwich couldn’t buy a goal…
