Summer Football

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 “You stay there grandad,
I’ll go up here.
Watch this grandad”
As he trots to the other side of the garden.
You move the benches,
And the plant pots
Become makeshift goals.
He kicks the ball,
Strong and accurate
Not bad for a three year old.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Mid summer
Long nights mean late games.
Kicking, dribbling, scoring goals.
“Kick it grandad”
“Catch me grandad”
As he picks up the ball
And runs with it rugby style.
The game lasts for a long time.
Just the two of you.
Magic

Notes

For my grandson Joe

We all have to start somewhere.
