And perhaps Van Gogh would wince
Monet shrug and put his brushes away

But by God on a football pitch
When a goal is needed in the thick of it
Big Dunc’s one route total football aerial prowess
Is a work of art in progress
Watch Sir Fergie’s face from the bench
A kaleidoscopic postmodern exhibition
Of red to blue to rage.
