1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The time for the mediocre’s passed,
False dawns can stand aside..
They’ve tried us sore, down to the core,
but never dented pride.
As Piaf would say in her chic French way;
“C’est payé, balayé, oublié… “!
Now playing wide with a brand new side
will let us have our say.
..and as Will once said in a play I read
when it’s time to show some heart;
“Stand like greyhounds in the slips,
straining on the start”.
No time to visit old defeats
as a season starts to dawn…
No more retreats, no more conceits,
Forward to the morn!

Almost all that could have gone wrong has obliged in the last couple of years at the Cottage. A new season brings new hope…..
