1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The team have been training hard all week
This afternoon it all went wrong
But still the hoards behind advertising boards
Sang their names out loud in song

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The manager looked on anxiously
As the defence got pretty slack
Two bad mistakes, is all it takes
To get a man the sack

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Directors have no patience
As they sign the cheques
As the tears and fear of relegation loom
What else would you expect?

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The media start this frenzy
Calling for a head
Tis like a public lynching
In days of: ‘ Off with his head ‘!

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 ‘ We all know the only certainties
In football looking back
Is that one day we’ll be hero’s
The next day we’ll be sacked ‘

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Some pretty decent managers
As August comes around
Must be trembling in their boots
As points, need quickly to be found

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Four games in, they’re now calling
To get a new man in, now!
Is there a more precarious position in life?
I don’t think so, somehow!

I can’t help but feel slightly sorry for the Toon and Graham Souness, as the pundits were so keen to remind us, on the t.v today, Newcastle have sacked thier last four managers in the month of August!

I take it that the directors at Newcastle are pretty patient blokes then?
