Taking A Look Around Me.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Out of me seat and clapping
As the teams take to the field
I’m another dreamer lapping it up
Though unconvinced all this is real.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 We’ve two hundred million by the dug-out
Earning Lord know’s what?
When our gaffa tells the subs:”Work out”
We need a security firm keeping watch.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 We’ve shiny Rollers in the car park
Bentley’s parked up by the ground
Near a hot dog stand and a burger bar
Which I can’t get me head around.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 When two captains spin a coin
I have to look away and laugh
As this seems dated, even boring
Though it shouldn’t do, it does.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 We’ve puzzled faces if we go behind
Contemplating going home
Who expect to win games every time
Though they spend the whole match on the phone.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 A bloke near me brings her indoors
and her i-player to the game
Come kick off time she’s deep in snore
With Michael Buble.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Watching Villa play West Brom last week
I felt a twinge of envy
The Holt was right behind their team
Nothing sterile in their frenzy.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 We’re playing PSG
In Europe this week
We’re currently top of the Premier League
Yet I yearn for days back in our history
Before the game became predictable and elite.

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 When the wonderful thing about our team
Beside the passion belonging breeds
Was our dedication to the art of consistency
and the real uncertain thrill of it all brought on by our…..inconsistency!

Notes

Just a few little things I’ve noticed recently, good, bad and indifferent.

Carefree…..braised in Celery.

Stay well, be lucky and keep smiling.

Peace.

Kev.
