Talk about letting down your team

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 When you’re all in it together
You need everyone to keep a cool head
The last thing that you want
Is to be flashed an early red

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 So, you lanky lummox
What on earth were you thinking!?
With those two rash challenges
You’ve left Spurs hopes a-sinking

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 And it was hardly the impetuosity of youth
For you’re certainly no spring chicken
And your untimely tackles
Leave ‘Arry and clubmates stricken

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 You know, you’ve been around the block
And surely you must have learned
Keep the challenges above board
Don’t get the referee concerned?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 So what now?
The season just fritters away to nought
Champions League exit beckons
And the fans are all distraught

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 There can be no making up
With anyone at White Hart Lane
When you’ve let them down so badly
There’s nothing to mask the pain

Notes

Tuesday 5th April, Champions League Quarter Finals, 1st Leg
Real Madrid 4 Spurs 0

Peter Crouch really let his teammates down, by making two very silly sliding tackles on the edge of the Real box, and was sent off inside 15 mins!
