Talking To Those That Hear

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The manager sends them out thinking how to win points
‘Warm up your muscles and stretch your joints’
One or two subs could change the outcome
They better get ready to end looks glum.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 They take their place beside the pitch
Running up and down a space in which
They can prepare for their starring role
To pluck their team from out of the hole.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Right behind them the crowd with their taunts
Jokes and comments they happily flaunt
They’ve paid their money so they’ll have their say
At subs expense they’ll have their way.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Some of them ignore and some of them smile
They listen to the jokes and stomach the bile
They act like they’re focused and in the zone
But still they abide with tempers and moans.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Wait for the nod and finger from the boss
Their number is up to replace the dross
So they trot on like a gun for hire
Out of the frying pan and into the fire.
