once again raised up its head
and this was the week when emotions run high
and many a word will be said

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 for season on season when tackles fly in
whatever their class or intent
always the question and always the doubt
was it accident or was it meant?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 and your heart it goes out to Eduadro
whoever you follow or love
your could lose your career at the start of a game
or struggle to just rise above

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 you could end up like Gazza who everyone loved
a broken and tormented man
to rise from the streets to those dizzying heights
then be back where the story began

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 is the nature of football so fragile
the glamour the money the style
where the stakes seem to rise every second
and a player’s forever on trial ?

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 is it longing or greed or survival
are we driving our players too hard
has it changed all that much since the black and white days
has our vision become blurred or scarred ?

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 has the meaning of life become power
have we all been seduced by it all
are we pushing our stars to their limits
forgetting that one day they fall ?
