That’s for you, son

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We all worry too much about our teams.
When the latest defeat occurs it seems
like we’ll never get another point.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 We criticise, argue and moan.
Sometimes we pick up the phone
and get it all off our chests

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 but it doesn’t really matter. For
whether we win, lose or draw
It’s just points that go on league tables

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 that end up in history books covered in dust.
What’s really important, what’s a must
is our families and friends.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Words like character, courage and strength
are used in the beautiful game at length.
Billy Sharp showed what they really mean.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Billy and Jade lost their joy
A beautiful, brave little boy
taken by angels after two days on Earth.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Despite their tragic loss, Billy captained his team
His goal, sent from heaven, went in like a dream
A smile, some tears, a message for Luey Jacob

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 That’s for you, son
